Indoor Kayaking at Prestfelde

Today marked the beginning of a 2 week holiday program at Prestfelde Preparatory School in Shrewsbury. Having broken up for the Summer a good 3 weeks before the state schools, an 8 and a half week holiday needs a bit of variety to keep it interesting!

Today there was shelter building, an art project, a water rocket challenge and kayaking. Consequently, I spent most of the day in a hot and humid pool while everyone enjoyed the glorious sunshine. I can hardly complain though as I get to spend most of the time outside (whatever the weather) in this job.

Each session was surprisingly pressured in terms of time, so we could only do a limited amount. After a quick practice and a few helpful pointers, it was time to play some games – after all, holiday clubs a are meant to be full of fun. That just about left enough time to finish off with a relay race before it was time for the next group.

A hot and busy day, but great fun.
