The Young Navigator Star Award (YNSA) scheme is the junior version of the National Navigation Award Scheme. It is specifically aimed at primary and secondary school pupils, and there is a natural progression from the Gold Star award into the main NNAS Bronze award for those that are interested in developing their skills further.

The Young Navigator Star Award scheme encourages the learning of map and compass skills through a progression of skills in the classroom, on the playground and in local parks.
