Doubles Canoe Course
This course is designed to give you all the basic skills you need to paddle a canoe efficiently as a member of a pair on flat water. We’ll look at basic canoe equipment, appropriate clothing, getting the canoe in and out of the water, as well as plenty of time learning and practising paddling strokes for both the front and rear paddlers. If you’re up for getting wet towards the end of the day, we’ll even practise a few rescue techniques!

Solo Canoe Course
Paddling a canoe solo is a complex art, and takes a great deal of practice. Don’t expect to come away from this one day introduction having mastered it. We do ask that all participants start this course with some level of previous canoe experience in doubles paddling in order to benefit from the sessions.
The programme looks at all the areas covered in the doubles course, but introduces additional strokes, position in the boat and dealing with prevailing conditions.
