Mountain Leader Training Association

Martin Digby is a full member of the MLTA. The Mountain Leader Training Association is part of MLTUK, the National Governing Body for climbing and mountaineering award schemes in the UK.

Membership of MLTA is for climbing, walking and mountain leaders who hold, or are working towards, a national award. The main focus of the MLTA is to provide further training, development, networking opportunities and support for members.

Who uses the Awards? 
Organisations such as local authority education establishments and voluntary youth organisations use the awards. Specific users range from teachers to youth workers, Duke of Edinburgh's Award assessors, Scout leaders and commercial operators. These awards are benchmarks of competence in the outdoors and are recognised by many organisations, including the Department for Education and Skills and the HSE's Adventure Activity Licensing Scheme.
