Mountain Biking

Mountain biking in Snowdonia, Shropshire and North WalesMountain Biking has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed ride, the opportunity to explore the countryside, a chance to develop your fitness or your technical riding skills, we can put together a session that fits the bill.

It’s also very much an all year round sport. In fact many mountain bikers prefer the wetter months as the ground is softer, the terrain can be more challenging and there’s something strangely satisfying about finishing the day splattered with mud!

As well as mountain bike courses, we also offer guided days out exploring the country lanes and bridleways around Oswestry and Church Stretton.

Mountain Biking Venues

Due to the explosion of interst in mountain biking over the last decade or so, it seems like purpose built tracks are appearing all over the place. Within striking distance we have Llandegla Forest, the Marin Trail and Coed Y Brenin.

A number of Forestry Commission areas have also started allowing mountain biking on footpaths at some of their venues. These can provide a good introduction for those looking at taking a bike off tarmac for the first time. Such local venues include Haughmond Hill and Delamere Forest.

However, mountain biking doesn’t need to be restricted to the confines of purpose built trails. For those that are happy to sacrifice the luxury of a cafe with a toilet, we can make good use of the rights of way that span across the countryside and explore areas that not many people get to see. Areas that we tend to use include the Shropshire Hills AONB Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), and an area stretching between Oswestry and Glyn Ceiriog.
